Notes
Performances at the Loft were suspended at the outbreak of World War II, but resumed in January 1940 with a revival of this comedy which the company had previously presented in 1934 with several of the same cast. The wartime blackout regulations caused a change to the Loft’s pattern of performances. The theatre continued to mount a new production each month but, instead of presenting each production for three and a half weeks with performances on Thursdays and Saturdays as had previously been the norm, performances now ran on alternate nights for a ten-day period around the time of the full moon.
